We are curious about how to know which comments have been added since we logged on last without going through each message and trying to remember how many comments have already been made. Also the comments don't always have to do with the original message??? We want to participate but we are trying to understand how to make blogging as easy as email. Any suggestions. We will blog this too just in case the one with the answers doesn't get the email.

Well, blogging is kind of like an online diary/journal - only in this case it's being passed around the entire family. There's not really a way to tell what comments are new without looking, but there should be a way to stay logged in if you'd like to so you don't have to login every time.
As you log in to Gmail, you may need to click a box that says something to the effect of "Remember me on this computer". If that keeps you logged in to gmail, then it should also keep you logged in as you browse to the blog. I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure it'll work unless you have people using more than 1 gmail account on your computer. Then it may not remember who to keep logged in.
