The View From Boston
Dear Family,
Just a quick note to let you know that Joi continues to improve. When you consider she has had two (2) organs removed she is doing amazingly well. She was going to take 4 wks to recoup but the Dr insisted she take 6 wks...so 6 wks it is. She paces herself & is getting a lot of rest. Sometimes she doesn't accept the fact that the body has to heal & tries to do too much however, she has been learning to heed her body advise. She now stops & takes a rest when fatigue hits her. She's coming along fine & has good color again. The Dr told her she was much sicker than any of us realized and this was her only recourse. The two organs were so badly swollen that had they touched, one would have ruptured & she would have bleed to death very rapidly, so she has accepted the outcome & is bravely dealing with it. I am so proud of her and all she has tried to do to conceive, but God has other plans I guess. We just have to wait ans see what His plan is.
As for the rest of us, we are all quite fine . Larry & I are getting prepared to head to Nashville and our plans are to leave June 7 (Thursday). We are anxious to visit the Kerseys and Mrs Poole.
Max & Lola, have you tried Calcium for your leg cramps? I hope you are getting some relief.. that can ruin your golf game & a lot of other things, which will remain...nameless.
Our weather here is turning to Spring and the tulips are coming up...but not open yet.
Love to all
Jeannine

We continue to hold up Joi in our prayers. She and Marty have been through a great deal, especially Joi.
Leg problems with Max and Lola -- cyclists use bannanas for the potassium. They are also excellent for a quick energy boast as they are filled with good carbohydrates.
Finally, I can find out what I've been missing on email. I've sure been thinking about Joi and Marty, having suffered with that when I was 29. Serah has been going thru lots of tests and biopsies and such herself. They removed several suspicious spots and the tests are ongoing but have been good so far. Lathums make terrible patients because they must do everything themselves! What happened to Mike Hogan?? Nick in the liver...good gracious. Laddie mentioned last week having his other knee replaced and was having lots of trouble with it. When is that surgery?? Mother started Prevacid this week after some stomach issues began to surface...we're pretty sure its acid reflux giving her fits but she's feeling much better on the medicine. Eli's 2nd grade class took the big tour buses to Huntsville AL to the Butterfly Garden last week and he brought back dinosaur fossils...real ones...really. Josh and Leann got to hear Baby Kersey's healthy heartbeat last week and we're all aflutter. We're expecting our baby in time for Christmas (if not Thanksgiving!) but we don't know yet if the stocking needs to be pink or blue. What's new with you?
I've put off surgery till July 18.
that is the reason I've inquired about dates. Laddie
