View from Nashville

Yeah! Paul unlocked the door to this blog and let me in...oh, he'll be sorry. There for a while I thought I had been voted off the island. I wasn't getting all the family email at work and so I was only getting part of what was going on. And Mother asks every day what we've heard that day.

Mother is reading every minute she can, and fortunately her series (Love Inspired) comes out with 6-8 books a month, which we always get. She has other favorite fiction authors if you're ever looking for a gift for her - books are her very favorite gift: Debbie Macomber (we don't have many from 11/06 and back), Karen Kingsbury, Lori Wick and Robin Jones Gunn (she loved the first Sister Chicks). She has lots of clothes she doesn't wear, but she always has a book in hand.

She doesn't like historical or ultra modern settings, and she prefers paperback, but she has a few hardback too. She really loves reading all your messages too, and it helps her feel in touch with the family.

Spring has come to Tennessee, and it's my favorite time of year here. The late frost took its toll on some of the Bradford Pear trees. Ours have dropped most of the leaves that were damaged and are thick and green, but others were not as fortunate, depending on the amount of sun they got. The Crepe Myrtle seem to be completely wiped out from the frost, and they usually bloom all summer and are everywhere here - what a shame.

More later - Sheila

Oh my you have figured out how to post new messages!! Eeek, now if we can only help Laddie get it figured out too.

Our trees have suffered a great deal as well. They are still in the process of leafing out so ... maybe we will be lucky. That was quite a frost we had in early April.

I sent Mother some flower for Mother's Day - they should arrive Wednesday or Thursday. Please let me know they have arrived.
