For Paul

Thanks for being so thouthful.......you really made Jerry's day. I am sure it won't come as a surprize to you to know there have been a few other boys along the way that have grown up to be fine men because he took time to care. Thanks again.

He may have helped others, I don't know about that, but I know what he did for me. Glad he got the card.

Yes, you are right, June. Here is one other person he helped turn into a fine young man. It may not have seemed like much to you two at the time but I remember when you two loaned me your car so I could drive Charotte Byrd to our senior prom. Does she still work at the Bank of Sikeston? Boy did I turn red a couple of years ago when mother took me to the bank and Charlotte gave me a big hug and KISS in front of LOLA!! But then we went to her house later for coffe with her and her mother, so every thing worked out Okay. But, I digress. Thanks again for the use of your car, it was only 49 years ago.

I don't remember who Charlotte Byrd is. Bank of Sikeston sold out several years ago and has changed names so many times it is hard to keep up with what it is now. Think it is now US Bank. Many of the people have also moved on to other banks....and heaven only knows we have our share of banks.
With a couple new ones this year, we are up to twelve. 49 years ago I was evidently driving "Old Blue". That was Mom's name for my first car, a brand new 1954 Mainline Ford that I paid a whopping $1,600 for. Can't hardly buy the tires for one now for that price.
